Part of the Lee 101 range, ‘premium quality and a smarter fit’ (the 101 line is the blueprint of Lee denim), these are the Lee 101 Z coal dust jeans with a pony hair patch. Bleached out washed selvage denim with ‘coal dust’ ageing, these have the ‘Lazy S’ arcuate – a particular stitch on the back pocket that makes the shape of cow horns. Originating in 1926 (when the zip fly was added to the cowboy pants) the 101 Z was the first slim fit available to the market, marking denim’s shift from work overalls to fashion. The stitched Arcuate has returned to the back pocket now stitched with a double needle machine and forming a diamond shape when the two lines meet. Original Levi’s zinc buttons enjoy a comeback but the crotch rivet, cinch belt and suspender buttons have been permanently removed. These are Kamome classic jeans are cut on the 0005 block which have thinner legs than the 0001. 0005 is inspired by the Wrangler shape, a fairly high straight waist and slimmer legs. (PLAIN) These are plain jeans – without the arcuate. Evisu No.2 denim is the classic Japanese New Vintage Sanforized – exactly the same selvedge as their No.1 Special, but preshrunk and pre-skewed before being made into a pair of jeans. The celebrated No.2 denim is 13.5 oz and green caste – the overall indigo has a traditionally Japanese green caste to it, rather than a red caste which is normally associated with old American selvedge. Loop dyed by an intricate process than involves dipping lengths of yarn then holding it high in the air to encourage oxidization before re-dipping and dying. The denim is then shuttled loomed in Osaka, Japan and sanforized so any shrinkage when washed is kept to a minimum. No.2 denim is Right Hand Twill woven and extra tough.

Product Information
The first post-war design, these straight jeans are recognizable as the 501s we know today. The stitched Arcuate has returned to the back pocket now stitched with a double needle machine and forming a diamond shape when the two lines meet. Original Levi’s zinc buttons enjoy a comeback but the crotch rivet, cinch belt and suspender buttons have been permanently removed. Belt loops and concealed rivets are standard, as are the 2 back pockets, big E red Tab, the 2 horse leather patch, and red selvedge. Light in colour and dry in feel, this model has gone ragged at the edges and some seams have unraveled. They are naturally dirty with specks and spots of oil and grime.

Product Information
WWII brought about great changes in the manufacturing of Levi’s jeans. In order to conserve raw materials (fabric, thread and metal) pocket watch rivets, the crotch rivet and the cinch plus its two rivets have all been removed from this style of jeans. The arcuate stitching was ordered to be removed (it was considered ‘false stiching’) so Levi’s began to paint the design on every pair of jeans to leave the factory. This painted arcuate will eventually wash off – depending how often you wash your jeans.
